Food Frenzy

Posted in India by Tall Guy on December 9, 2009

There is an opportunity for marketers to come up with a unique marketing strategy to sell their products.

As one must be well aware of the prices of food reaching sky high, so much so that even the family budget had to take cost cutting measure even though the Indian economy has been doing very well.

Weak monsoon and drought in parts of the country are said to be cause for the price hike in food prices.  Still the government has doing nothing to stop the prices going further high, giving an opportunity to the hoarding of food stock in warehouses instead of supplying it in the market.

What better way to sell one’s products by taking advantage of the current situation.  Here are some tips:

  • Electronic items will be sold with an offer that free food stock worth Rs 1000 or more* would be given on every purchase.
  • Cars will be sold with the boot space filled with food grains and will also be provided with a 3 month supply of food stock**.
  • Himesh Reshamiya to offer variety of food stock in small quantities to people who would go and watch his latest debacle (movie).  (There by setting a trend which will only be beneficial to the people as there is a dearth of movies going hit.)
  • A new reality show and winning prize would not be money but a year supply of food stock.  (It will sure gonna be a big hit.  I’ll also think of taking part in it.)
  • Banks offering loans to buy food stock and take payments in EMI’s.

Terms & Conditions apply. They may vary as when required:
* The product purchase has to be cost more that Rs 10,000 or more.
** The car clocking 200 miles on the road or a 3-month supply, whichever is first

Now, who says the Indian economy is not booming.  Hail the rise in prices!!

I with steady income am finding it extremely hard to manage!

Me: 🙂 I know and the problem is that there is no valid explanation for the substantial increase in prices.
